Border Police

In accordance with Article 5 of the Police Law, the border police are responsible for the immigration security and guarding the borders. The duties of the border police are carried out by the Immigration Office, the Aerial Police Office, the Special Police Third Headquarters and the Harbor Police Offices. The National Police Agency is responsible for planning and supervising the approach for security inspections. With the establishment of the Coastguard Administration in February 2000, the responsibilities of border police for security inspections were partially transferred to the Coastguard Administration.
