Traffic Police

The main duties of the traffic police are to keep traffic in order, to ensure traffic safety, to prevent traffic accidents and to improve traffic flow. The Traffic Division of the National Police Agency (NPA) takes charge of planning and supervising traffic safety protection. The National Highway Police Office under NPA, the Traffic Police Corps under Taipei/Kaohsiung Cityl Police Department and the Traffic Police Brigade of each City/County of Taiwan Province and Kingman County of Fuchien Province take charge of handling traffic accidents, ticketing drivers against traffic regulations, towing parking vehicles without permit, directing, guiding and controlling traffic, and publicizing for traffic safety. The traffic police Unit of each police precinct are responsible for the implementation of local traffic safety protection.
