Our Service Achievements

All the personnel of TYPB unanimously have made great efforts to present the best quality of service to you and completed the achievements as follows:
With county residents reporting cases voluntarily and with all the police personnel fully obedient to the direction, Command and Control Center (emergency: 110), empowered to mobilize local police force, able to dispatch on-patrol officers to the place of occurrence. Thus, criminal cases are increasingly solved year by year.

In 2002, Juvenile Police Corps of TYPD paid 260 visits to Schools and cooperated with the precinct police stations to set up patrol boxes near every school. Juvenile Police Corps also implemented a patrol plan to effectively maintain the safety near the school during the hours when students are on their ways to and from school. With this plan implementation, Juvenile Police Corps has made use of a force amounted to 65,607 the general public (with some repeatedly used). In addition, with the joint patrol shared by outside-school associations, Juvenile Police Corps has also used a force amounting to 1549 the general public (with some repeatedly used) so as to maintain campus safety and make students feel safe while on their ways to and from school.

In the places where teenagers hang out, Juvenile Police Corps redouble their efforts to prevent teenagers from late-night hang-outs, smoking, drinking, eating betel nuts. In addition, Juvenile Corps also crack down on those who provide the aforementioned items or services, and then send the providers to court for prosecution.

To thoroughly maintain the safety for schoolchildren on their ways to and from school. With the assistance from a women's team which advocates traffic safety, county authorities coordinate precinct police stations and Traffic Police Corps to implement the project of "Aisle for Schoolchildren" geared to 92 Schools. This measure is effective in maintaining the safety for school children on their ways to and from school, as well as in improving traffic order so effectively near the campus that it has won compliments from teachers, schoolchildren, and parents.

If county residents feel unsatisfied with the ways their cars are towed away, they can file complaints to the Traffic Corps by writing to one of the two units ( Traffic Corps of TYPD, No. 51, Hsien-Fu Rd., Taoyuan City or Vehicle Administration Department) to state the reasons for their resents.

From Jan 1, 2002, we provide the following services for both taxi drivers and riders. To provide the service for taxi driver, we processed the applications for Registered Certificate of Taxi Driving. The general public qualified for the applications and obtaining their Registered Certificates after passing driving tests and completed pre-career trainings.

We find most victims are female while handling the case of sexual misconduct. To avoid re-double victimization, we authorize Women Police Corps to assist the female victims and accompany them to the public or private medical institutions for proof of injury. Then, Women Police Corps take written statements (completed at once) from the female victims and take some protective measures for them. In addition to obtaining proof of injury and taking written statements, Women Police Corps quickly transfer the case of sexual misconduct to the criminal investigation unit to track down the suspects.

The population of women and children make up more than 50% of total population, and they are highly vulnerable to be victimized. Thus, the safety for women and children is the key point for maintaining social safety. To strengthen our ability of maintaining the safety for women and children, we occasionally hold carnival-like events for advocating the safety for women and children, as well as send some members of Women Police Corps to visit schools of different levels, public institutions, private corporations, associations, and communities to advocate the safety for women and children. In doing so, we may install the concept of safety maintenance and introduce some basic tactics of self-defense so that we can bring the victimization of women and children down to the lowest level or even eliminate it.

To form a team of crime prevention, we invited experts in academic circles to provide assistance in making policy on crime prevention.
In cooperation with the Department of Social Affairs, we provide assistance to local communities in establishing "Care Housing” to take care of schoolchildren in the neighborhood.

We provide assistance to the community residents in mapping out "blind spots on social safety", as well as redouble our efforts to enforce protective measures, with the result 158 blind spots.

Based on the need for social safety and with the help from local residents, we made great efforts to establish community patrol teams and held several meetings on community safety to let county residents obtain information social safety in a short time and allow them to reflect their opinions about social safety.

We launched the movement of "Home Alliance Defense" and provided assistance in installing video surveillance systems.

Through the media such as newspapers, broadcasts, events, the Internet, electronic signboards, leaflets, etc..., we can play an active role in transmitting information on crime prevention. We have held 389 events for advocating crime prevention and 436 meetings on social safety. In addition, we produced 96,000 copies of leaflets on crime prevention.

We designed the checklist to conduct environmental evaluation on crime prevention at financial institutions to consolidate the safety measures for financial institutions (including 391 banks).

To consolidate the measures on citizen convenience, we advocate the concept of "using the Internet instead of presenting in person" to encourage the general public to report criminal cases via the Internet. We also provide the general public with the service of keeping track of case handling online.

By putting the names of former felonies on the list for preventing recidivism, we take preventive measures on fighting crimes.

By implementing the project of "Inspection of Residence Security, we provided the routine check service for 4,900 households to prevent home burglary

By conducting the evaluation on the performance of crime prevention, we encourage uniformed officers who performs field work to enhance crime prevention and then to take action in preventing crimes.

To cope with the gradual increase of Internet crimes and the rampancy of pornographic websites, we established a squad for combating computer crimes.
